Compilation recommendations

Post  Lance Mannion on Sat May 30, 2009 6:51 am

Hi-What a terrific site-Am going to sunny Camden today to buy 4 of the Las Vegas Grind cd's that everyone agrees are tip top, and they have a couple of the Twistin Rumble series also. I absolutely have to get the Untouchables track on the home page. Can anyone advise if it is available on a cd anywhere please ? Thanks for your guidance.

there was talk that crawlin' had been booted this year but so far none have materialised

Thanks icky poo. The shop I went to today to get Las Vegas Grind cd's was pretty good and am sure would be of interest to your members- www.nohitrecords.co.uk. They had vols 1,3, and 6 on cd and assured me that 2,4,5, don't exist- however amazon.com has vol 2-but not volumes 4 or 5. Do vols 4 and 5 exist as cd's please. I also bought vols 1-3 of twistin rumble-could you advise on the no this series goes up to.Thanks again

i have volumes 2 and 4, two is called louie's limbo lounge (it is titled Las Vegas Grind Volume two) on the lp's spine.

here is volume 4
http://tralfaz-archives.com/coverart/V/Various/LV_GrindV4.html

here is volume 5 and the rest for that matter.

But I see you are looking for the cd's - it looks like they didn't issue the full series on cd - or compiled them all over 3 parts?
I'm a vinyl buyer so can't say for certain.

Las Vegas Grind on CD is titled Volumes 1,2,3, and 6. Volume 2 on CD has the Dan Clowes cover if you are looking. Twistin Rumble now has Volumes 1,2, and 3 on CD. Each covers two lps less a couple of track so they fit. I have been looking for Volume 3 on CD in the US. So far, it is only available through Crypt Germany. I am still looking for The Untouchables Crawlin' on vinyl, CD, or wave file. Shocked

i could have sold my copy of crawlin' almost 20 times over this year! Best offer i've had is £200
not for sale though, not unless I find another. In which case knowing my luck the buzz will probably have died off by then!

I wouldn't know where to begin licensing the tracks. Icky Poo seems to be pretty rare to find?

Voodoo Drums (do you mean the aki alongi 45?) should be easy enough to locate a copy? have you tried gemm.com or even ebay?

damn!
i was going to say that i have a spare copy, but i dug it out and it has a crack coming from the label into the grooves. it clicks a little at the end, but plays fine.
otherwise it looks vg+.
if anyone wants to trade...

jordi.

These comps had a few tittyshakers

Post  Mondo Loco on Fri Aug 28, 2009 7:02 am

These compilation disks had some solid tittyshakers on 'em. Some well-known, some not. Not all tracks on these are tittyshakers, tho...some will lean toward rockabilly or surf...but all are great comps!

Bettie Page - Jungle Girl
Bettie Page - Private Girl
Bettie Page - Danger Girl
The Big Rumble (Killer Dillers) Vol. 1-5 - mostly rockabilly, but great stuff
Bug Out - Vol. 1 & 2
Buttshakers - Vol. 1 & 2 (More late 1960's - soul tittyshakers)
Camp Burlesque (contemporary, but great!)
Concussion!!! 18 Gougin' Instrumentals 1958-1965
The Dog's Bollocks of American R&R Instrumentals - Vol. 1-4
Elemental Instrumentals!! Raw, Primitive, Instrumental Rock from Cuca
Fast-Track: 16 Blazing Instrumentals
Forbidden City Dog Food
Greasy Rock 'n' Roll Vol 1-9
Swing for a Crime
Swinging at the Go Go Club!
Tabu!
Wavy Gravy - For Adults Only and Four Hairy Policemen
