Twistin' Rumble volumes 1-4 are untouchable, at least they were until I recieved the three newest volumes hand delivered to my home on Friday night. Holy shit... they are incredible!!! It's true... volumes 5,6 & 7 will be out in a just a couple of weeks in Europe and the U.K., and I think the U.S. as well.

Cool

I really like Weirdsville. I had another in the series (Wildsville) but this one was way better.

There's another in the series (if I remember correctly) called Wowsville

The Las vegas grind series is great, as is Sin Alley and Frolic Diner. The Big Itch is good too, although has it's moments of greatness!!

Nice site. Thanks to whoever is responsible.

On the above topic...

This is no substitute for the real thing, but for those of you of an MP3 disposition, you can check out the Las Vegas Grind series (amongst many other great comps) here: http://chocoreve.blogspot.com/

Another good site here too: http://rideyourpony-twighlightzone.blogspot.com/

Enjoy.

i'd recommend getting the Las Vegas Grind and Jungle Exotica on CD - extra tracks and the pressing quality of the vinyl is pretty poor...

out of interest, are there any legal comps of this kind of stuff? all those listed are bootlegs, i think (not seen all of them tho)

I gotta say, both the comps that Bongolia did for the VG+ swaps i've been involved in have been some of the BEST rock n'roll (instro and vocal) comps i've had the privilege to hear. Looking forward to this years!

ok, i dug up some lp comps that include cool instros:

-Swing for a crime (jazzbo)
slow jazzy shakers

-instrumental madness (ostrich)
rockin' shakers...all killers

-r'n'r versus r'n'b (valmor)
includes the ike turner' amazing Doublemint track

Hocus pocus (punch)
comped by Paris' top dj Batman

at the party (candy)
not many instros but all floor-fillers...you need it!

plus check 'greasy r'n'r ' for great stuff here and there....

Weirdsville/ Wildsville/ Wowsville

Post  hazmania on Tue Feb 24, 2009 5:57 am

There is a fourth release titled Big Deal. It is sort of a Songs the 5.6.7.8.s Taught Us compilation with originals that insired the band. Well worth it.
