Action Pat's Shakers

I really love this site and wanted to post a mix for a while, but every time I do I see that my favorite shakers have already been posted. So here is a mix of 14 of my favorites that have not been posted on this site so far and most of which aren't on the Las Vegas Grind Comps. There are some ones that everyone will probably know but hopefully a couple that'll be new also! I hope you enjoy em and let me know what you think.

I have the same recording as Guitar Gables 'Congo Mombo' on Excello
I'm sure my dj partner nick has this ABC Par. release too - are they the same? Sounds the same to me.

I am pretty sure that they are not the same record. There are three versions of Congo Mombo (one is called Congo Mambo I think). I believe that Guitar Gable wrote it and his version is a little bit slower and has less frantic and more swampy drums, a killer Chicano version by Mando and the Chilli Peppers and this one by Muuva Hubbard. I know nothing about Muvva Hubbard.

Great mix there Pat, especially like the Maxamilion and The Secrets tunes.

Who does that 'Women' r''n'b 45 on Liberty on your myspace page btw? It needs owning by me now!

there is actually another version of "congo mambo" but i can't remember the artists name. it's a really tame jazzier version and it was on a fairly major label back in the day. sold it on ebay earlier in the year, but can't remember any of the details. sorry!
