Re: Compilation Recommendations
I wouldn't know where to begin licensing the tracks. Icky Poo seems to be pretty rare to find?
Voodoo Drums (do you mean the aki alongi 45?) should be easy enough to locate a copy? have you tried gemm.com or even ebay?

icky poo
damn!
i was going to say that i have a spare copy, but i dug it out and it has a crack coming from the label into the grooves. it clicks a little at the end, but plays fine.
otherwise it looks vg+.
if anyone wants to trade...

These comps had a few tittyshakers
These compilation disks had some solid tittyshakers on 'em. Some well-known, some not. Not all tracks on these are tittyshakers, tho...some will lean toward rockabilly or surf...but all are great comps!
Bettie Page - Jungle Girl
Bettie Page - Private Girl
Bettie Page - Danger Girl
The Big Rumble (Killer Dillers) Vol. 1-5 - mostly rockabilly, but great stuff
Bug Out - Vol. 1 & 2
Buttshakers - Vol. 1 & 2 (More late 1960's - soul tittyshakers)
Camp Burlesque (contemporary, but great!)
Concussion!!! 18 Gougin' Instrumentals 1958-1965
The Dog's Bollocks of American R&R Instrumentals - Vol. 1-4
Elemental Instrumentals!! Raw, Primitive, Instrumental Rock from Cuca
Fast-Track: 16 Blazing Instrumentals
Forbidden City Dog Food
Greasy Rock 'n' Roll Vol 1-9
Swing for a Crime
Swinging at the Go Go Club!
Tabu!
Wavy Gravy - For Adults Only and Four Hairy Policemen

Sin City Jukebox CDs = Awesome!!!
the wrestling jesuit wrote:hi does anyone know anything about these comps best wishes
I love the Sin City Jukebox series! A German DJ was visiting New Orleans when he struck up a conversation with a local cab driver named Herb Franklin. It turns out that back in the late 1950's and early 1960's he owned a Biloxi, MS based topless bar called Sin City. Any time a 45rpm was rotated out of the jukebox Franklin added it to his private collection. A collection that eventually grew to 15,000 strong. The DJ, a really cool guy named Reinhard, convinced him to digitize some of the blues, R&B, soul, rockabilly, and country records taken directly from Sin City's jukebox. The music is fantastic! The graphics are fantastic! The CDs are cheap (6 Euros)!
By the way an eighth was just released recently...
The Sin City Jukebox CDs can be obtained through the record label's Facebook page. Simply search for "Spoonful Record Label". Click on "Photos", "Albums", then "The Spoonful Series" for details on the individual volumes. Get 'em all... they're great!
If you have trouble finding the link let me know...
Regards,
Al

I would say no. To the best of my knowledge Sin City Juke Box and the rest of the Spoonful series (66 discs) are only available on CD-R (hence the cheap price).

There are actually eight volumes in this series (starting with 0 and ending with 7). Send me a private message and I'd be happy to upload the comps you're missing.

In Europe:

The LP doesn't seem to be on the web site yet. I found the information on Soundflat's monthly newsletter...
