i'm glad this forum is back!
and psyched that the "naughty rooster" made into the "juke joint"
don't forget, the version by the gimiks has a great a side called "get off my trail you sneaky snail" which isn't on the Crystalette version...and a great shaker in its own right...

Re: Welcome sleaze fans
Hi there, this is an excellent site so I thought that I would get involved. Cheers for running it and putting up all those 45s. Don't know much about this sound but it's something I've always enjoyed and I hope to learn more about.
I'm particularly interested in finding out about eastern sounding tunes in this genre, kind of like bellydance or at least with that kind of instrumentation I guess but a bit tougher if such a thing exists. I'm kind of thinking of a very small part of the music I heard when I was watching The Battle of Algiers the other day (which is by Morricone). Can't really think of any off the top of my head anyway, which is why I'm asking of course. Thanks in advance.

Yessss...
I can't believe it's taken me so long to find this site...I'm constantly searching blog links for new sleaze/trash music. I have to admit, I never heard 'em called "tittyshakers," and have to say, it's the perfect term. I'm now gonna have to slice my iTunes folder from Surf and Sleaze to Surf and Tittlyshakers, individually! This kind of stuff is right up my alley. I heard some of my first tracks about 15 years ago at Antone's music store in Austin, Texas. They were spinning "Jungle Exotica," and I bought it on the spot. My first blog (still running, although inactive) — The Groove Grotto — used to house some of these kinds of tracks on wax, but I switched it up a couple of years ago, and now have a lot of weird Christian albums (Little Marcy) and Kay Martin and her Body Guards. Give it a visit, if you have the chance! thegroovegrotto.blogspot.com.
AWESOME SITE!!!
